Ok, I know this thead won't be any good without photos and believe me I have tried. I can't get a photo to load on to my computer so I can re-size it to include it with this post.

So, we have a good supply of solid surface materials. I don't know what brand they are, possibly mixed brands. They are primarily still in the 1/2" slabs, but we have cut some of it down. We can send you a slab or cut it in to pen blank sizes.

We have multiple colors. Tonight I spent some time turning down some samples so you can see what it will ultimately look like.

-Maroon with specks
-Dark grey with a green tint and specks (thought it was grey, but now looks dark green)
-Tan with darker flecks (this one reminds me of wheat)
Blue with specks - kind of a denim color
Darker blue with specks
White - solid
White with black specks - there are two different patterns
Milk Chocolate Brown
And probably some others I have forgotten.

I would like to trade this for exotic woods or bright and colorful acrylics.

I know, I know this thread is worthless without photos. I'll keep working on that.

Let me know what you have to trade. If you don't have a trade and just want to purchase, let me know and we will work something out.

THANKS!!!

O.K. Hopefully solved the problem on Hubby's computer. Here are the first few color examples.

1) Corian is a brand name for solid surface material
2) Corian and other solid surface materials are nearly always one-half inch
3) They can be glued together with CA and the seam is not easy to see IF there is a random pattern or no pattern.
I have made many pens from two pieces of solid surface, glued together. If properly glued, you can drill right down the seam and they do not break apart.

+1 on Ed's post above.

There are also competitors of Dupont that have practically cloned many of their colors and patterns, so it can be difficult to determine the exact brand name at times.

...is the "solid surface material" CORIAN?

Could be some Corian or any other brand. Since I'm not sure of the brand then I erred on the side of caution and went with the generic term.

1/2" is a bit narrow as stand-alone pen blanks.

If you are wanting just a pen blank and not a slab of it then I would supply 2 pieces that you can glue up and have a 1" thick piece to work with. I will be generous on my end of the trade. I'm just not going to glue them up for you.
