I enjoy the shop and turning. I am having a shoulder replacement due to joint wear and arthritis. The doctor and the research I have done says I will not be able to turn for up to 12weeks after Monday the 10th.

I can not think about being away from my shop and pen turning that long. Keep me in your prayers , and pray that the doctor does a good job so I can turn again one day.

I will just have to watch all of you make all those beautiful pens. please keep posting your work it will keep me busy imagining that I might be able to do something like that one day.

Thanks for sharing, I will post the first pen I turn after Re-hab.

Good luck with your surgey Jim. I know what your going thru as far as the shop withdrawls goes. I used some of the time learning how to do some carbon fiber blanks and steampunk blanks, so maybe with your down time, you will be able to do something else pen related.

This is pics of my Lumbar Fusion i had on Nov. 22, I am pain free and feel like i'm gonna have my life back. I go back to work on Monday. Hope your surgery goes well and it returns you to good health.

Harry, I see those images and I get "goosies" just, thinking about it...! You are obviously a young man still, they don't like to do those sort of procedures after a certain age, at 40 I was told that I was already too old to have 5 of those done in my spine, 3 on lower back and 2 on my neck, only because I was a public patient and not someone with private health care...!

The pain free status is probably one of the best results anyone could expect to get from such procedure, I hope that it keeps that way...!

Yes Jim, hope everything goes well with the surgery, you will amaze yourself with the stuff you can still do with one hand...!:biggrin:

Best of luck,

Cheers
