I have a Rockwell Random Orbital Sander (Rockwell #RK4245K), and 14 boxes of 40 grit discs (RW9219) with 50 discs per box (Yes, ALL 700 DISCS ARE 40 GRIT), to fit this sander. The sander is unique in that it has 2 counter-rotating discs to greatly reduce vibration and it really works! Take a look at the photo of the sanding disc. The inner disc is about 3" in diameter. These are perfect for sanding the inside of bowls with. This sander is perfect for stripping paint on siding and old furniture. The sander is used, I just don't need it any more with all the others I have. It comes with the owner's manual, vac attachment, a hard dust box (see photo), and a hard case. The sander retailed for $100.00 and the discs sell for $40.00. I think $20.00 for the sander and $10.00 for each box of discs is fair, plus shipping.
I prefer trades over cash. I am looking for mid to high end pen kits, carbide inserts, CA glue, 14" band saw fence, lathe fluting guide. You tell me what you have, maybe we can work something out!

everyone needs a 40 grit SKEW once in a while!!!

Just the "Flap Disk System" disguised in another name...!

Its most intriguing, how some people finds it so hard to admit they use a coarse sanding disc device to shape their "more difficult/fragile" or not, pen blanks...!

I'm looking for a VALID explanation, if you don't mind...!:biggrin:

Cheers
George

I may be the 1st woodturner to freely admit this!

I have NO SHAME when it comes to using sandpaper!!!

ESPECIALLY WHEN THE WOOD IS VERY EXPENSIVE (OR TO COVER UP MY LACK OF REAL SKILLS!!!)!!!!

I never understood the thought that *(using the hoity-toity voice, while looking down my nose while raising my pinkie finger)* "A goodwood turner should not have to use sandpaper".

I use whatever works for me that day!!!
