Ed,
Is there a way for you to sticky a thread? Can you have one stickied where you add your movies? It could be a case where they go there as a quick link with a short description. Of course have your weekly threads for them for any discussions. Maybe even have a link to the thread also.

No longer confused....
I think you took what I said wrong or badly. I was trying to say that stickies is a very important feature and they are lacking. Many things that should be a sticky are not.

And you perhaps missed my invitation to list those deficiencies.

The recent one was the PITH, the thread kept getting bumped to bring in more users.

Bumping puts the thread into the new posts feed. Many of our members never go to specific forums and would not see a sticky. So in that regard, bumping is useful.

I am always on the lookout for improvements to makes our content more useful to members. I don't think I've ever turned down a suggestion to make a thread sticky. A PM with the URL and 'could you stick', would do the trick.

I hate to interfere with this discussion between two of my good friends, from the state of Ohio and the state of Confusion,:biggrin::biggrin: but is this what you were asking for???

Thanks for any feedback!!!

And, of course, after doing all those links, any bumping is to be completely ENCOURAGED!!!

I have noticed sometimes when things are over sometimes they stay stickied longer than they should. Is there code for a second tier sticky where it drops if there is no post for two weeks for events (pith, castaway)?

Any moderator can unstick a thread. Click the yellow triangle and request that the thread be unstuck.
