While the fit is perfect and the finish is even more perfect, the shape seems a little off to me. The whole thing ties together nicely though!

Nice work Steven. I like the simple and elegant design. Difficult to remove all the fine scratches on the black acrylic but it looks like you were able to do it. What diameter size are the pen barrels? Thanks for sharing.

it is...i'm thinking about redoing the cap...

Really? other than maybe thinning the cap a little I like the overall look of the shape, the Cap proportion to body looks good. Simple design but sometimes I think less is more. Very James Bond looking you know tuxedo sleek, classic kind of feel.

I think I can see where you are going with regard to the cap. My guess is you are thinking of making it the same OD as the body section.
If so, that is going to make the internal thread area mighty thin.
I'd leave it as is because.....practically every screw apart or snap apart pen has a larger diameter cap.
Making them the same, for me anyway, would invite numerous mistakes in thinking which end come off and you would be holding the cap end and starting to write with it. Yes, the pen end it is slightly longer, but not by much.

I'm not sure what is off, it just looks a little funny to me. I'm still a beginer, but I try to make consturctive comments when I can.

Maybe... The nib end of the body is ever so slightly concave, barely. and the cap is just a little bit large on one end. Both of these could just be an illusion. This is still an incredible pen, much better than any pen I have ever made.

Gotta tell the 'rest of the story'...why was this not the idea at the start? That blank looks like it had plenty of dye/mica in it....can't see through it, that is for sure(which makes this one great).

Any chance on getting the info on the 'nib stuff'? Is it a cartridge refill, or a 'stick'?

I still think it's great!! Looks like...and I'm usually wrong...you took a hair off the cap and rounded the ends a bit? I'd own that any day of the week and twice on Sunday! Any thoughts for a clip?

Now ya did it. What were you thinking?
Now it looks as good,or better some would say, than it did before.

Personally, I have to commend you for managing to return it to the lathe and not have to remake it. That's what would have happened to me!
