New Black CA cracked under cap

Just got in a new bottle of Scosche (Bob Smith rebranded) Black CA, everything looked fine but pulled the outer cap off and it was cracked vertically. Then noticed the bottle is hard as a rock. Even with pliers I couldn't get the inner cap off. It's all good, Amazon is sending another and it'll be here Saturday. I've had good results with BSI CAs in the past. It's actually my preferred brand for long before I started turning... never seen it cracked like this. The outer cap shows no damage, so no clue how it happened.

Black is rubberized and is flexible. Regular CA has pretty bad sheer strength. Black is much better. It's more like epoxy but not that elastic - but then it's 30 second or so glue not 5+ minutes.

I still prefer epoxy over even rubberized CA for tubes. For one it's $15+/oz. vs the same for a 9oz set of 5 minute epoxy. And obviously not for tubing translucent materials like acrylics. BTW, there's a clear rubberized CA too.

That Insta-Flex+ in the 1st link is a Bob Smith Industries re-branded... I've had good luch with BSI CA's in the past. This was my 1st problem with one.

Oops - both of those are BSI. Those are the same glue with different people's labels stuck on top.

The 2nd bottle showed up yesterday.... exact same problem. I noticed the black showed up in a separate box from the other CA I ordered @ the same time - that usually means it came from another warehouse. I'm thinking the CA @ that warehouse isn't doing so well - probably too hot or something.

Anyway, both are on their way back to Amazon. And I'll go pick up some from somewhere else. Normally I like Amazon because I have Prime and don't have to keep extras on hand, when I start to run out, I order some and 2 days later it's here with no shipping charge.

Sorry for the problems you are having but it is likely not an amazon problem but the vendor itself. Of many problems I have seen over the years with doctors, vendors and service companies it seems often better to go elsewhere to fix the problem, sad to say anyways.

I know that I have left CA in the shop, it's outside and unregulated temp wise and not that long ago I had to throw away 3 bottles because they all turned to a brick in a very short period of time (1-2 days if that)
 
Amazon has had many new stories and I think a lawsuit or 2 about warehouse conditions - including 100+ degree temps where employees were brought out by EMTs on stretchers. Amazon was the stocking vendor here... they both came out of the same warehouse.
