I have a Delta AP400 1HP dust collector spare sitting taking up space in the shop. Would like to find a local Carolina turner (I'm in Fort Mill) willing to lay down $40 and come take it out of my way.

It's a great single tool or short run collector and is on casters. Not recommended for planer, jointer, or full shop duct duty though. Not quite enough cfm flow for that.

Great starter DC and served me well for many years of light use.

I bought my AP400 about 6 months ago for around $80 and I think its worth it so $40 is a great buy for someone, I'd say. Not the end-all be-all of dust collection, but it has worked well for me as a portable unit for my lathe.

Somebody get this thing out of Carl's way!

Sandy.

There are gatherings for the Piedmont area. They meet on Thursdays in Indian Land off 160 and 521. Unfortunately I can rarely free up a Thursday night and they don't seem interested in moving it to a weekend. Think it has to do with facility availability since they meet at someone's house.

dangit. I gotta check these forums more often.

So, we Charlotte area pen turners need to get together.

Agreed -- but it seems like I keep adding more crap to my garage, and only have a single path walkway for me to get to my lathe......now I'm having to maneuver around two kayaks.....

I tried to make it to the last meeting for my first, even had a pen for the PITH and a box of blanks, but was tied up at a job site in Monroe until 6:30. No time to get home and shower and back. Maybe next time, but I'm juggling kids' sporting events, etc. most of the time. Even Saturdays tie me up, so it will likely not be until my winter down time when I make one.

I wonder if there would be interest from the group to have an NC meeting in Greensboro. Located right in the middle of Raleigh and Charlotte it might be a nice middle ground for at least one meeting. I'm sure the local Woodcraft wouldn't mind a bunch of turners coming to town for the day!
