Am I alone or are there others who are having troubles uploading pictures?

I attempt to upload pictures that I've uploaded before and I get a message telling me the picture is the wrong size and I can only upload it if I resize it. This includes at least one picture that I go by downloading from here.

When and why did this change, I'm just uploading attachments the same as I've been doing for a couple of years?

Nothing has changed. In fact right now the picture upload restrictions are off since I never re-enabled them after the edstreet experiments.

What happens is image sizes larger than the limit were getting reduced. Since the setting is turned off any image larger than that will be denied. Just resize the image to 960 max and it will upload fine.

I just know that I downloaded the IAP hat picture from here and last night I tried to upload it and It said it was the wrong size and wouldn't take it. It says the size limit is 960 X 960. Personally I don't even have any resizing software and I can't crop them to fit...

LeRoy; If you search on the internet, you can find several free programs that will resize photos, many web services that work on-line, and even a few full photo editors like GIMP that are free.

It seems to me, the question is, if it was originally uploaded to IAP at some time in the past it had to conform to the size restriction in place at that time. If it was then downloaded and subsequently tried to be re-uploaded, how did the size change to prevent it from being uploaded again?

It didn't.....the size restriction now in place wasn't there or the site resized the picture to fit.

I was not able to resize with MS Paint...it just chopped a piece out of the the picture to make what was left the size I set up.

Hey smitty, send the pictures to me, I'll resize and send back to you......
Please use my home e-mail, you should have it on file

Actually I ran into this last night attempting to post some screen shots for Jeff to see. I hit the same 960x960 error and had to start cropping since I didn't want to resize beyond readable screen shots.

It's not just Smitty and there are definitely restrictions still on somewhere.

restrictions are indeed still on and in force. It is the automatic resize that is disabled.
