A coworker and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and picked up lunch last Friday, she got her lunch and an extra order of boneless wings. Welll she forgot it Friday night in the fridge when she left, half were eaten by someone when she grabbed them Saturday. I think it would be allright to put some Fleet enima stuff in, but a couple others disagree.

What do you all think?

Problem is if you do that - how do you get it out to eat them yourself if the thief doesn't take them?

I would be tempted to buy some ghost pepper powder or pure capsaicin and sprinkle a batch of wings with that leave in in the frig. Look for some one with steam coming out of their ears. Bet they will NOT be taking someones elses food.

I like the sentiment, but in case you weren't being sarcastic, unless you want to open yourself up to a lawsuit if someone ate it with the laxitative and then could prove you did it with malicious intent, it would probably not be a good idea. A quick search online could reveal some lawsuit cases in which a laxitative was given to someone in this manner.

I have some really hot ghost chilies in the garden this year. I've also made a habanero and ghost chili purée that is going to be dried and ground into powder. I'd be glad to hook you up with some. Just come over one day

I can't believe you can be sued because someone steals your food....

it's dreadfully unfortunate, but very true. I'm just glad it wasn't such a litigious society back in the stone age when some co-workers and I allegedly handled a similar situation with some rather nasty stuff that I probably shouldn't mention. It worked though.

It could be difficult to prove who did it...and even more difficult to prove why....

I passed this post 3 times when I was here to add my condolences to Landon's family and 3 times I wrote something and thought do not get involved because it has been posts like this I am leaving this site. Useless posts and I mean useless.

I am also glad someone had the nerve to write what I was thinking and just wanted to add if you do this I hope you get caught and the consequeces of the law lands you in hot water. 2 wrongs do not make a right!!!!!! You want to protect your food from theft there are more sensible ways to do it and if you need them spelled out then I pity you. What if the person has an allergy to whatever cockamanny idea you have and dies??? Want to live with that???

I want to applaud John Pratt.

I also tend to highly agree with Skips motion on a seperate forum for more personal notices such as sickness and health. How does this look when this topic is the next one under the loss of a great friend of the site. Useless.

Now you all can hit the yellow arrow and report my post because I do not care. !!!!!

here's a novel thought...why don't you stay out of the "Casual Conversation" forum since you already know that threads here have nothing to do with penturning?

pretty simple concept, I think.

Uhm there would be no lawsuit. It is theft of personal property. It is not your responsibility to keep thieves safe during the commission of a crime. Courts have ruled that even unlocked items is no excuse for a theft to occur.

I can't believe you can be sued because someone steals your food....

It is quite elementary to prove who did it.

I can manipulate my good however I want. If you choose to eat my altered food without asking then you are taking on the full responsibility of eating it.

And if you feel so inclined, leave. Your snarky replies will no be missed.

Food left in a refrigerator in a work place gets altered. Probably dozens if not hundreds of people could have had access to it. After it was altered, someone stole it and ate it. And you believe proving who altered it would be elementary??? That is laughable, proving who altered it would be next to impossible.

If its a useless post, why did you come back 3 times?

What's funny is I go to Buffalo Wild Wings and I often do the wings challenge. I am going to order them most of the time anyways, I might as well get a free shirt out of it. So doing that really doesn't hurt me. LOL. I had someone one day at work snatch one while I was eating them took one bite and about exploded.

Maybe we should ease up on John. He says he came to the "Casual Conversation" part of the forum to track the news of Landon. He reads a post which seems so petty and trivial in light of the death of a friend. He starts to respond but chooses not to - does it again and again, until he finally breaks down and posts something which in my opinion doesn't seem to be out of line.

He makes three points: 1) I am sad about Landon and am struck by the contrast of this post seeking permission to extract revenge over some chicken wings. 2) Seeking revenge could land you in hot water and also could endanger the life and health of someone. 3) I wish there was a special forum for personal notices so they weren't mixed with what he termed "useless" posts.

As I read his post it seems as though the responses to it are just striking out at someone who is grappling with the death of a friend juxtaposed with someone asking if it is wrong to doctor food to teach someone a lesson.

As for me, it has been my experience that when someone asks "Is it wrong?" They already have come to a conclusion on the matter and as often as not are looking for someone to agree with their decision rather than alter it.

Steve

Is it wrong? If you have to ask, you have doubts - and yes, it's always wrong to try and injure someone else.

What's WAY more wrong is having the gall to personally attack someone just because he pointed out that he thinks it IS wrong.

Not everyone knew him. I still send my condolences to his family and friends. This however is not that thread.

Ed, has other food been eaten out of the fridge? Does the scavenger have something they especially enjoy?

Found these on the Internet. Both sould work...

Sorry Andrew but it seems to me that specific person finds "something" wrong with just about every thread he responds to, usually his complaint is that it's a useless thread that shouldn't have been posted for one reason or another and that "it's this kind of thread" that is driving me away....Sometimes ya just get tired of that particular rant.

Casual Conversation Off-topic, general chat.

I did not put this to start an argument, it was meant to maybe get a chuckle. The people that have met me here know I am a rather good natured person, who will often try to get a laugh from people.

Sometimes a discussion breaks out, and I look forward to what a couple people are going to put. I am interested in their perception. An example is something kids do nowadays vs 40 years ago. I love seeing some of the more seasoned opinions.

I did get a chuckle out of it. unfortunately someone else did not, but im not surprised at all. while looking over the forum threads if there is one im not interested in I just don't click on it....simple as that. some people just aren't happy no matter what. I do pen turning as a hobby. a hobby in my opinion is to relieve stress and bring enjoyment. the IAP is a place where I can learn more about my hobby. unfortunately I cringe every time I see a post from this someone (who posts a lot). its usually blunt or rude. although they are a very talented pen turner with a wealth of knowledge that could be shared here I for one will not miss the "attitude" contained in their posts if they choose to leave because they are being "driven away"....whatever that means?

Personally I thought the OP was made tongue in cheek, given the 'solution' mentioned. I think all of us at one time or another have had discussions about what should be done about XXX happening in the work place.

In one instance I remember it was the cleaning service personel eating their lunch in my office and leaving crumbs etc. on my desk every night.

In another it was a technicians Preparation H disappearing from his roll around tool cabinet.

One of the women in the admin center used to keep a bowl of candy on the counter - several days in a row she came in to an empty bowl even though she seldom had to fill the bowl because there was so little taken day to day.

One of the technicians reporting to me used to leave his pens/pencils in a cup on his desk. Came in everyday for about two weeks to find his cup empty.

I got my phone use bill once where there were about 50 calls made from my phone....all while I was not in my office. (interesting side note: The guy who made them later went to work for a competitor and tried to hire me away from IBM - If I'd been a couple of years younger I'd have taken the job but I was only three years away from my planned retirement.)

Lots of things happen in a work environment that cause discussions of what we should "do about that" and some of the "solutions" get pretty exotic and/or randy.

There might not be a lawsuit, but there certainly could be. Others have sued over this exact scenario (and won).

And you believe proving who altered it would be elementary??? That is laughable, proving who altered it would be next to impossible.
Given that this thread exists, proving it to the satisfaction of the court would be super simple.

Not so - the owner is named only as a "co-worker" so one can't establish even who to file suit against. Nor does this thread imply that anything was actually done.

Even in the USA you are not likely to win a lawsuit against someone because someone else might have known that they might have done something that might have caused you harm. The OP might know dozens of people who could have put the XXX in the chicken.

I say put on the ghost peppers. You aren't doctoring the food, that's just the way you like them! Stealing food is wrong and who's going to prosecute that. If someone has food allergies, they shouldn't be stealing food they have no idea of the ingredients.
