A couple of weeks ago I had a great idea for a pen. I went ahead and ordered the hardware and was excited to try it out once I had some "free time".

...for the life of me, I can't remember what the idea was now. Not that I have free time to actually do it yet anyway but it's killing me trying to remember what the heck I had thought of :frown:

What I do is draw a little sketch on a notepad. I come up with so many ideas. My problem is I do not have enough time to do them all. My mind is constantly working and sometimes that gets annoying. Then I have 6 or 7 blanks going at once on the workbench and I get them confused. Have to find some shop time soon. I have the pen making bug bad.

Johns; Some of the brightest minds in history always kept a pencil and pad of paper along side of their beds and in their pockets. I find that I have some of my best ideas when things are realy quiet and I am at rest. If you don't jot that idea down, you probably won't remember it in the morning, or a week from now. What was the question ???? Jim S

Stop trying to think of it. When i forget ideas like that when i stop thinking about what was it sometimes it comes back to me. Or, if you can, go do what you where doing when you thought of it, that might trigger it again.

just my two cents

I think someone was giving something away for free.

That's why I have Evernote on my Mac, my iPad and my iPhone. Something occurs to me, I make a note straight away.

Evernote (and similar note-taking apps) is available for Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Androids, Blackberries and other systems as well.

Now where did I put that phone??? Next to the Ipad, which is next to the Mac. Have to go pick some blackberries. I can see them through the Windows. Be right back.

LOL! Thanks for the tips & laughs guys :)

The funny part (if there is one here) is that I even forgot buying the hardware set until I saw it on a recent invoice I was entering into quickbooks. Was a moment that went something like, "Why did I buy that? OH! Right! I was going to....wait, why DID I buy that??"

I have a proven way of remembering everything that ever happened in the past, every word that has ever left my mouth, every thought I have ever had, and a few I don't remember even having. I just ask my wife, She remembers everything !!! Jim S

P.S. It's realy bad when you go into a room, and once there, you can't remember why you came there in the first place. I usualy just shut the bathroom door and wait to see if anything comes to mind.

It is called AAADD Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder . My mind wanders and my body follows it off. (Often my car follows it off, too.) Crap, passed my exit again.

The answer to this is to get rid of all doorways! Ok.. just kidding there, but supposidly our brain is wired to forget things - Why Walking through a Doorway Makes You Forget: Scientific American

You really shouldn't be reading and typing on IAP while driving.:biggrin::biggrin:

Welcome to the club - it's a good day if I can remember my name all day.

John: I'll try to help you remember yours, if you'll help me remember mine!!!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
I do that stuff all the time. I buy tools, get home and find I already had one. That's excusable, though, as he who dies with the most tools wins!!!

I have little problem remembering what happened 30 or 40 years ago...now what happened 30 or 40 minutes ago is something else.

My wife has a different problem - she remembers a lot of things that didn't happen and remembers me saying a lot of things I never said but she needs an excuse for something she does it becomes "Well that's what YOU always told me to do." Even if it's something I've never even thought about much less told her to do it. She also forgets that the easiest way for me to get her to do something is to tell her not to do it and the easiest way for me to get her to not do something is to tell her I really want her to do it.

The other problem is when you KNOW you have that tool, but can't find it, until you replace it and you have already used the new one so you can't return it.

NO! Actually my SIL wins. He gets the tools when I die!

Sell them and spend the money before you die....the best thing is to spend your last cent on the day you die and stick the family with funeral expenses:biggrin::biggrin:

If you have no doorways, you have a one room house, so your always where you want to be in the first place. I think?? Jim S
