I saw Stoney Lamar do that in St. Louis, 25+ years ago. I wasn't thinking creatively enough at the time to appreciate it. I was basically trying to figure out what a bowl gouge was back then.
 
I saw a video clip where someone made a segmented vase and used a chain saw to trim the segments round. I think the clip was for advertising a Vicmark? lathe. The vase was about 6' high and about 3' diameter.:eek:
 
I had the pleasure of seeing and gabbing for a while with Liam in New York last September.
The demonstration is excellent, and how he uses the saw on the lathe is a sight to behold in a good way.

Go watch and enjoy it.

And ask him if hwe is using the Jamison Grind yet. :biggrin: :eek:
He might remember where that question came from. :rolleyes:
