Whew. 108 yesterday, 105 the day before, supposed to be 108 again today. And the humidity is up. Granted our 15% humidity means very little to you folks east of here but to us that is a lot more than normal.

Temps climbing here also 108 or higher by Wednesday, lows in the 70's at night. The humidity is up also. We usually have dry Heat (?) Having lived here most of my life this is not unusual, in spite of the climate change propaganda. The Sacramento/Central Valley of California get hot in fact real hot this time of year. When I was younger before AC in house or car it didn't bother me much now at 70 don't need it or want it. Have AC in the shop and it is on but set at about 80, because of feral cat who lives there ifr I go out there to do something will turn it down a little. The dogs and I will go over to son's house this evening after the race to swim a little. 2.5 year old grandson loves to swim with one of the dogs and she like it to. Back in 1960 the day I graduated from High School it was 110 and we had to wear shirt and tie under our gown and girl had to wear slips nylons and dresses in at unconditioned auditorium, not but that was then. Where it can get bad is over in the San Francisco Bay area the normally don't have AC and if it get hot over there they really suffer. Stay Cool stay safe, hope the state doesn't burn up with fireworks for now.

The Humidity is way from up form normal out here that is the big problem. We were suppose to go up to a Winery in the foothills east of Sacramento today for some wine Bar B Q and some blues music. It would be hotter there than here so we called off the trip. We just felt it would be safe for us older ones. My wife can't take the heat at all so there could have been problems.

Between being stationed in Yuma and retiring there, Since moved. I spent 8 yrs there. Know all about the heat and humidity of Az. So much irrigation there raises it above normal.

113 yesterday, 114 and climbing today in North Phoenix. We are in the suburbs north of the city. It is 118 downtown.

I guess Fresno is the cool spot on the map! 10-15 minutes in the shop at a time today. 108 and something with a lot of 1's in it on Monday

Two words...window AC. Mine keeps my 20x20 shop at 80 degrees for about a dollar a day.

I Have one Sharon...several factors against me...outside wall, 8'x22' and 8' ceiling. I have my air scrubber running, 3 fans and the A/C...I turn early:wink:

My 10 X 12 shop is 78 with 106 outside at 6:30 pm pdt. going swimming after dinner when it should be a little color in the shade at son's house. I can get the temp in the shop down to 72 if I want by 78 is good for now as just the Feral cat is in there now.

Our 20' wall faces south, but we put a LOT of insulation in it. We have a rollup door instead of a garage door and it is also insulated. It is a converted carport so two walls are part of the house, and the ceiling is also heavily insulated. Boy does all that insulation make a difference.

It has also been in the 100 pluses at home in Texas, I closed the shop and we went to our place in the mountains of New Mexico. It is cool enough to work, so slide my little lathe on the deck and play to my hearts content. High yesterday was 85, today was around 78, with a nice shower for about an hour. It was 100 both yesterday and today at home.

Hit 130 in death valley yesterday. Makes our 118 here in Phoenix look kinda puny. What's really bad, though is that the LOW here was only 91. When it doesn't cool down at night, even the very early morning hours are pretty bad. It is 103 at ten in the morning.

The forecast for Sacramento has gone up and for a longer period. 108 today, originally 108 on Wednesday now 111 and then 106 on the 3rd and 100 on the 4th was supposed to cool of and Thursday but not now. A good ole Central Valley heat wave. Think 108 today and then up.

Well we are in the low 90s high 80s here in DE but raining to cool things down a little every day. When it isn't raining we have very high humidity so it is really uncomfortable 90s.

In the early 60s I lived just outside of West Point at Highland Falls NY. We were just a few blocks from the Hudson river, and in the summer the temp and humidity ran neck and neck at about 95. With no AC. I'll take Phx at 115 with AC and 7 percent humidity any day.

I lived just up the river at Poughkeepsie and Wappingers Falls in the early sixties....same weather, same No AC...Couldn't wait to get to work where they did have AC - also not unusual to get 20 inch plus snow storms at the other end of the cycle.

4:19 pm pdt. 105 and climbing fast 78 in shop same in the house with ceiling fans on med. Went swimming with 2.5 year old grandson last night at 8pm temp was 100 and pool was 85 nice bath. I take care of him and his 9 year old sister on Monday and Friday mornings all ready told them we swim for 8am to Noon and then stay in the house until their mom or dad gets home From about 11 am until 4pm the pool is in direct sun and I don't feel it is safe to be out there even in the pool for them.

Solved the heat problem. We left town for the week. Southern West colorado is plenty nice. Hopefully the temps drop a bit before we have to go back home.

Grandkids were in the pool at 8am headed for 108 or higher today and now there are clouds, which will put a lid on the kettle. Heard they canceled flights out of Phoenix because the heat was so bad it caused problem with lift for plane trying to take off.

The little jets (100 passenger size) can't take off in temps over 117. Some flights were cancelled, some just postponed until the temp dropped. Our normal high for the date is 107...we reached that at 10:30 in the morning.

AC set at 78 in the house as per utility instructions. at 8:55 am it kicked on supposed to be 109+ today. Had a text from on of the member of our Dog Park Pack, her AC has gone out, so her 2 dogs will be spending the day and probably the night with us, she may also. We have group at the local Dog Park who's dogs have kind grown up together, there are about 20 of them in the pack. Jack and Danny are my dogs best friends so there is now problem with them being over here. They will all sleep this afternoon have dinner an go to the Dog Park about 7:30 pm. Rather have them than some humans. Stay cool those out west.

You all sure have the heat out there in AZ and CA. I hope you get a break like we have. Where I'm at in Texas the temp is 79 official and 73 on my porch. right now and our low tonight is supposed to be 59. We live on a lake and almost always have at least a slight breeze and its normally 5 to 10 degrees cooler here at the house than what is reported. My wife even put on a sweater this morning and there was definitly a slight chill in the air at sunrise. The house stayed cool all day and the AC only kicked on for a short while about 4 this afternoon. We are usually getting baked alive at this time of year and until a few days ago it was getting really hot. This weather is supposed to hold with lows in the 60's and highs in upper 80's for at least the next four or days or so. Then I'm sure we'll get back up into the 100's too.

Temp hit a high of 105 and the breeze from Pacific Ocean came through hills around San Francisco Bay and dropped the temp into the 80's by 9pm At 10pm it is 80 so a drop of 25 degrees in 3-4 hours. supposed to get back up to 105 tomorrow with a chance of Thunder storm and shower tomorrow night into the 4. The have a moist flow of air from Mexico coming up over the Sierra's which will drop down the slope into the valley. Was nice sitting out on the patio after getting back from the dog park. The dogs actually played tonight.

I guess the heat is a little west this year. Last year we tied and broke some records for highs. I have one pic of the machine shop I was in at 113, in the shop. Been real nice here so far this year. Hope it cools down for you guys. I lived in Sacramento back in the mid 70's. Moved there from here in OKC. Thought the heat was nuthin' with out the humidity we have here. But still know it's hot.

Yep, we here in Oklahoma up until today have had wonderfully cool weather for this time of year, but changes are coming we've been told, heat and then more heat.
