I know this doesn't compare to any of Roy's Hotrod's, but i'm an avid racecar freak. I prefer dirtcars over asphalt, as I have two modified dirtcars. But my good friend talked me into building a Modified Figure 8 car for asphalt. The car is a square tube chassis that we built over the winter. It is powered by a 406 all aluminum small block chevy, that dyno'd at 722 hp - 804 ft lb torque. First practice tonight, and it was pretty quick.

Ed, where did you hide the clip and what nib did you use? Will the extra weight tend to pull your shirt pocket?

Looks like a big bunch of fun!! Have a great time plying with your new toy!

Ernie, at my age I prefer only me on the track driving in a straight line but that would really temp me, nice .

My nephew's Rat Rod

...he built it all. The first piece was given to him,it is a Ford 26' tub. Everything else he built!

Great looking Modified. How often do you race. When I was living in Indiana I use to race Modifies and Sprit cars. Good luck at the track.

Not Ed, But ERNIE:biggrin:.

I race every Friday and Saturday somewhere. The closest dirt track is an 1 1/2 hour drive. Most places we race are 140 miles away. We race Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City Ky on Friday night. Saturdays are usually North Vernon In, Lawrenceburg In, or Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt In. If we're not racing, i'm in the stands somewhere watching Late Models or Sprints.

We built the figure 8 car to run in the 3 hour figure 8 race at The Speedrome in Indy. We'll run a handful of races before then to try and get the setup.

Here's a pic of the dirt cars. The white modified is a GRT Chassis and the Late Model is a Victory Circle by Moyer Chassis. The black modified was last year's car and it's a Shaw.

You'll like this Sprint Car picture. This was taken at Haubstadt for Indiana Sprint week.

Here is a picture of the last Hot Rod I built. Taken in 1973 350 Chevy injected on alky. Beat a lot of sprint cars with it. The driver is 85 as still in good health. The is down under we took it there to race and sold it. It has been restored, just can't afford to get it back.
