I have used water slide printable decals, ...

but not this. Looks interesting. It seems to be a bit more complicated than water slides , but it appears that you can really get good adhesion. Water slides do have the problem of a detectable edge. I wonder about these.
 
It's suppose to eliminate the spraying of krylon, but seems like more work.

I think the use of krylon is eliminated because it's laser printed, not because of the paper itself. My understanding is laser toner won't come off in water, ink jet ink does.

*edit* I do see this has some sort of transparency film, but I think I read on the waterslide instruction sheet that you only need to seal inkjet prints.

The transparency appears to protect it during the soaking stage and heating. After that you remove it with scotch tape.
