Who here shaves with an electric razor?
I'm considering one and there are so many to choose from. Thought I'd get reviews from actual users.

You will never get as good a shave as using blades and it will take you longer. I stopped using my electric razor 2 years ago and am very glad I did. My skin is not as irritated anymore.

I went through several brands. Braun worked the best.
 
When I used to use one I found liked Braun the best. When you first start out with an electric it can take as long as 30-45 days for your face to get used to it. Pretty uncomfortable until then.
 
I do on weekends to give my skin a break. I use the Braun series 5. The rotary type (circular heads) will be more comfortable but the foil type (rectangular head) gets closer. If you have thin hair then it won't make much of a difference but if you have thick hair (I do) then you want the foil type. It still is all about personal preference.
 
To get a close shave, you need a thin foil (the less between the blade and your face, the less whisker is left standing.

Then, if you have a course beard, it breaks the foil in a few months. Foils are "gotta get it from me" products--$20+.

The rotary types have much stronger foil, which means they don't shave as close.

Want a good shave----blade!! (2 or 3 or 5!!!)
 
Haynie - Whaaat?!?!?! Don't know what you're speakin' of. Just sayin' there are times I want a closer shave - thus the Gilette in the shower.

(so what were YOU thinking?)

Never liked an electric razor myself, but now is moot point... I stopped shaving in 2005 when I retired, after 40 years in business and 4 years in military, needed to give the whiskers a chance. I do use an electric trimmer about once a week just so I don't come off looking like Duck Dynasty.:laugh:
 
I think I'll just stick to my straight razor. After looking at reviews and seeing what all of you say I'm thinking I'll be better off with it!
