If you are from Texas and are not familiar with SWAT, it is the Southwest Association of Turners and is an annual wood turning symposium for the Southwest. They claim it is the second largest woodturning symposium in the world with over 900 in attendance last year! I have been a vendor there for the last couple of years and this year, decided to turn in an application to be a regional demonstrator. Low and behold, I was selected!

I am pretty excited and a little nervous! I have done a number of demonstrations for local clubs and really enjoy it. I was a demonstrator at last year's MPG and that was the largest audience I have demonstrated for but I was not too nervous! I will also be demonstrating at this years MAPG so I will be able to get some good practice!

....glad i got your autograph when i did! It's gonna be worth a bunch now, sorta like havin that prized rookie card:biggrin:

If you can do all of those other demos with no problems, then SWAT will be a breeze, besides you've been there before already, so you should be comfortable with the atmosphere!

Hey congrats Curtis. Tell me....when is SWAT and do you think they would let a South Dakotan in? What am I saying? They let Seamus in so I think they'll take anybody!:biggrin::tongue:
 
Great news Curtis!

Don't worry you'll do fine. If you feel like your getting nervous up there and your legs are givin out on ya try some of that Cactus Juice you make! That stuff will stabilize anything:tongue::biggrin:!
