I recently bought some nice desert ironwood burl and yesterday I made up this Wall Street II. I could not capture the beauty of this wood with my camera. Out in the natural sun light it is simply gorgeous. As always,

Wow Ben!! I have a 10" chunk in the shop I need to have a lash at...this is gonna help! How did it finish? I'm thinking it would be like cocobolo or the rosewood family?

Ben might say that it is a hard wood and prone to chipping. But, that is stealing Ben's thunder and he might disagree with me. It is BEAUTIFUL WOOD.

I'm not sure about straight grain ironwood, but the burl will chip, or better said, will break. I dropped a piece 7/8 x 7/8 x 12 and it broke in half. Another piece broke when I shifted some blanks laying on the work bench. No problems turning it, although I would recommend a super sharp tool.
