Had a shaving brush that absolutely would not lather up the soap? Sold one over a year ago and the fella is just now bringing it to my attention. I really did not believe him until I tried my self and sure enough it will not lather. I have tried 3 different soaps in the cake form and a soap called love my face that comes in a cream like form, all to no avail.

Does any one have a suggestion? I`m not interested in creating problems for the supplier. I really don`t know who the supplier is. I would like to give the customer an answer along with the replacement.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Perry:
The low end ($6) Berea brushes are worthless. As a test, drop 2 drops of water on the tip of your index finger. Then rub your finger briskly over a cake of shaving soap. If your finger makes a "foam", IT IS THE BRUSH....All badgers are NOT created equal:)

Hmmm

Don't know the problem but I have a back brush with the same problem but it has man-made bristles.....I would say something is keeping the bristles from absorbing water unless you live in a very hard water area, but you'd have problems getting lather on your hair or body in the shower if that were the case.

It is for sure not a $6 brush. I have not purchased that cheap.
Thanks for the replies.

Thanks for the input Smitty I`m sure it`s not hard water.

What soaps did you use?At what height did you set the loft? How tight did fit the knot?Loose, long lofted silvertip brushes have a difficult time picking up enough soap from a hard soap due to the flexible nature of the hair.Get yourself a tube of C.O.Bigelow premium shave cream,it will lather up any shave brush.
