What happened to the classifieds? Did they die from lack of interest?
Nah...Me, Ed and Roy are all still sellin'Is there a decrease in the amount of shady sellers?

deals and trades is free --- vendors are very limited as to what they can sell there.I have purchased but never sold. There seems to be 3 forums where buying and selling takes place -- premium classified, classifieds , deals and trades. Do they all have a charge for using? I check all three several times a day...
I too look at the classified almost every time I visit the IAP site....would hate to not have them available any more.
I probably use the classifieds as much as anyone--I guess I just didn't realize that I was a "big boy" as a seller....Well it's now the big boys that are there mostly. The little guy that did the quick, low price, small lots just above cost got pushed out. They just can't absorb the cost, you have to do a fair amount of volume. You can't do the quick, cheap, just above cost anymore. (unless in deals & steels and then it is very restrictive)
just a thought

I say we leave well enough alone. The staff and members have worked hard to get things to the point where it satisfys most of the members. This place used to be nothing but one big sales flyer. Every forum you went to was someone selling something. If people are looking to buy something they will seek and find you. There is a proper place now for these things and it has cleaned up for the most part the other forums. There are enough catagories there for people to sell their wares and for members to shop for them. Deal with it.
When you click on forums and get the drop down box, scroll to the right.

The only time I think of myself as a "Big Boy" is when I stand up and look down to see my shoes, seems there is a bulge in the way:biggrin::wink:![]()
Every place you went someone was selling something. There is a place to do it now. I don't know about big boys and their toys or not but if you have something worthwhile to sell then take the time to sell it where it belongs.
I liked the abundance of choices, but it seemed that people would have 7 ads with 2 blanks each or something like that. I think that was what they were trying to get away from.
That was the idea behind the changes....create a market place and no marketing in the community forums. For better or for worse, depending on your own opinion(s), the change has had an effect.I liked the abundance of choices, but it seemed that people would have 7 ads with 2 blanks each or something like that. Yes that was a problem long adds lots of bumping. BUT you had LOTS of variety, dirt cheap products and a discussion to go with it!!!
Could have just tweaked the rules a bit. Maybe 2 post per person & close it when it's done, closer moderation, maybe an affordable yearly subscription??
I don't know....it seems more comercial....then community now.
We will work with what we got
