Almost threw this away

I had a piece of wood sitting in my garage for a few years, not sure where it came from. It may have belonged to my brother but who knows? I was going to throw it in the burn pile when I noticed it was Olive wood and decided to but it up and see what it looks like inside and this was what I found. I have about 10 slices like this one and they are all big enough for 4 or 5 pens each. This is both sides of the same piece.
