A few months ago my father-in-law passed away. I have been trying to think of a way to make a permanant picture memorial to place at his grave site so my mother-in-law can see him every day when she visits.

I was thinking about printing the 4x6 pictures on decal paper, placing the decal on the wooden stand/box. But what would be the best finish for it so it would be weather proof and clear? Also, does anyone know a supplier for Greek Olive Wood?

Thanks in advance!!

They allow it, it is small enough and not a permanant fixture meaning it is not stuck in the ground, just placed there to hold flowers.

Just a suggestion with an example. First, think of what your Father in law liked most. Could be a hobby or some "thing".

My son in law did essentially the same thing your are thinking about. His dad raised horse and had a favorite String Tie. He had a pic of his dad on Horse back. He did the pic with the actual tie hanging to the right of the photo.

For my daughtere, she liked the Coast and big fir trees. We did tht on her Memorial stone.

But, of course each of us makes our own choice. Just an idea/s. Hope this may help in some small way.

Maybe check with Ken at Kallenshaan Woods about having the picture engraved on the wood.

I thought about that. I use an engraver down the street from me that does some really nice work.

I am trying to find someone that supplies Greek Olive Wood. He was raised on olive/tobaco farm in Greece so I thougt it would be a nice touch.
