Tried to post in the metal lathe forum and got the following message:

Trying to post here to see if I get the same message.

EDIT: Well, that's weird. Posted just fine here. Still can't start a new thread in Metal Lathes. Anybody else having problems?

Thanks Ed. I had sent an email with the details using the "Contact Us" link. Hopefully that's as useful as a PM to Jeff.

I'm looking into it.

There have been recent posts, and I can post now, so we'll have to check the logs. I suspect maybe a character combination in your post is the problem.

Jeff, it was probably because you deleted your Test Post, but I tried to reply to it and got the below error message.

Hi Jeff - I had used a title that inlcuded "MT2 <> MT2". Without that in the title I was able to post. Perhaps it was the greater than / less than combo (aka "not equal") that caused the problem?

Yes, that was it, and it should work now if you'd like to try it.

The security product we're using watches for certain combinations of characters used as input (posts, titles, etc.) which hackers use in a process called "SQL Injection" to try to compromise a database.

Sometimes, as in this case, a combination of characters used innocently triggers the filter.

Thanks for the report!
