Just remember, you will never (at lease I have never heard of it or seen it!) receive a legitimate e-mail from a company with grammatical errors such as above.
That's the first thing I noticed, and look for in these scam emails, get several a day.

I like the ones where they type them in their language, then use some freeware translator program and send the email, the subject line has weird charcters and spaces in the middle of the words or the words aren't words.

Yep you bet I'm going to open that.

If you are interested in seeing how well you can detect phishing e-mails, take this test here: MailFrontier Phishing IQ Test

This site also has good info on how to detect phishing scams and what they are: Phishing E-mail

To join the thread; I took the quiz, but only got an 80% because I flagged two legitimate emails as phishing.

The bottom line for ANY email you receive is NEVER CLICK ON ANY LINK IN AN EMAIL. If you think the email may be legitimate, open your browser, and type the web site address.

Just an alternative opinion on Yahoo Mail. I've used their premium mail service for the past 10 years and love it. I've never had a problem. The service has always be reliable and responsive for me. Their spam filtering is very efficient and I really like having unlimited email aliases. I use a site-specific address for every site I sign up with.

Note: I'm not affiliated with Yahoo in any way other than being a satisfied customer of their email service. I also have a free email account with gmail, which I also like.
