I need/ want a pressure vacuum pot, like the one in the casting blanks library section. Anyone have one to unload let me know, im in MA. Thank you, john.

I am building one out of polycarbonate for vacuum stabilizing blanks with Turntex Cactus Juice. If it works out I can send you my plans so you can build your own relatively cheap.

Ok, im not sure the best way, i just read that article and it seemed great, one machine to do both!! Tight on space. Not sure if i need pressure or vacuum, will be using alumilite and resin saver mold, dont have them yet, on there way. I have a couple wood laser engraved blanks i want to cast. Ill read more and if what youre doing would work for me then i would love some help and tips in building mine. Thanks, john.
 
You may need a pressure pot more than a vacuum chamber as you don't mention anything about stabilising wood so, and with that in mind, a pressure pot complete system, may no be any cheaper than a complete vacuum system, as you will need a compressor for the pressure pot...!

I think that, you also need to do a little more reading on the subject(s) and decided what system you need first. It may also help considerably to watch YouTube videos about these 2 issues and have a more clear idea of what each one does or is more suitable for...!

Yes, near future want to stabilize blanks! Resin save doesn't like vacuum but low pressure ok I think I read it correctly, mold doesn't like pr, it breaks down. I like the cactus juice setup and may use that stuff, but for now I just want to get the vacuum/pressure pot. Watching the vids on stabilizing, I think a clear container would be best, but for the resin, alumilite I think that both would be good in one tank because of short work time. I have an ultrasonic cleaner so I may try no pressure/vacuum, just the heat and us cleaner???... For now till something comes along

According to Curtis, Cactus Juice will attack polycarbonate. If you build your chamber out of it, you may need a liner or inner pot to hold the resin. I use an inner tub made of HDPE to keep the resin away from my chamber (after having an acrylic one fail).

To be fair, Curtis makes great vacuum chambers with acrylic walls. They work very well when used according to the instructions. Those instructions include not leaving Cactus Juice in the chamber for extended periods. I used to let my blanks soak overnight after releasing vacuum. Eventually, the Cactus Juice eroded the corner welds and the chamber began to leak. I've since gotten a larger chamber (also made of acrylic). I could fill it bare, but I find it easier to use an inner tub than to wash out the chamber after use.

that cactus juice setup is nice, my girlfriend has turnd a couple of the dyed blanks she got from one of the wood turning stores and loved the look of the dyed wood, i think it was maple.. but the blanks were like 6-7 bucks, id rather do them, have fun, and get her an unlimited supply, more toys for me!! but still want the pot for other things like the pr etc..
