We sold our farm with owner financing and now it looks as if we are going to have to foreclose. Fortunately we collected a goodly amount of money prior to this point.

What is involved in this ordeal and is it expensive.

Only had to do this once and it was years ago, and it was a real PITA, I'm not sure what has to be done now with all the law changes and such, and i'm in Cali so it would be different in your state I'm sure.

Good Luck.

I would suggest talking to someone at the bank you deal with. And get legal advice. There is usualy no charge for your first consoltation. Good Luck Jim S

I thought in Texas, that you could just shoot them and drag their dead bodies out into the open for the buzzards. No?

Find a good real estate lawyer they can help. Yes foreclosure is a real PIA. I hope your finance agreement was well drawn up by a lawyer other wise things could get ugly.

We are trying to sell our business property and before we decided to owner finance I did a lot of research and I do mean a lot. No matter what state I looked at all said foreclosure was a not easy that is why banks hate to do it.

I think that's case only if they steal your horse, wife or beer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you also have to write a country song about it within thirty days of the event.

I think the country song is only required if there is a train involved.

Get an attorney... Different states have different rules and different approaches to deed or title insurance issues if you do it wrong. My Number 1 advice ......... get an attorney..
