I was in Tucson the last time there was one this good in the west. I slept through it because I worked nights.

Enjoy! There will have to be a rather drastic shift in the earths alingment for me to ever see one again......but I get the northern lights!
 
Was just doing a bit of looking and it turns out we will have a partial eclipse with its maximum at 4:38 local time. In fact it looks like the folks at the tip of the aleutians are in for a heck of a show! They are very close to the eclipses maximum.

Now if the coulds will just part a bit...
 
Well didn't really notice much, our could cover is perty heavy right now........looking forward to hearing what you guys saw.
 
Since I don't have welding goggles or other dark glass, I used a paper plate with a pinhole to shine it on the wall outside. Here in Minneapolis, the moon eclipsed about half the sun, just before sunset. Really cool--wish I could have seen the full annular eclipse.
 
I used my bird spotting scope and a sheet of paper.

We had a good time. Found a good spot. The kids chased lizards, used harder sand stone to shape softer sand stone, then we all oohed and aahed the event. The coolest part was the number of lizards that came out as the sun was covered. Guess they thought the sun was going down. Pics coming as soon as I can figure out how to get them off my phone. Might have to wait until I get home.

If they are attached pictures. Save or Save As them to where ever you like to keep your pictures. When posting use the Manage Attachments to find and upload them.
 
that looks about like it did for us in the Bay Area. We had baseball practice at the time. A guy in the park had welding glass, so we suspended practice so the kids could all go see it for a bit.
