In the past three days, I've received emails from Amazon, confirming a cancellations for orders I've never made. I've never ordered books, only went there one time to price one. Anybody else have this experience with them? What to do about it?

Correct Chuck,
Its fine to open the emails, just not to click on the link or any attachment etc. delete it, and job done

I would also let Amazon know. Go to their site (no links ever in emails)

They might ask for you to forward the emails you got so they can be on the look out. Some companies will take extra steps to protect customers

Thanks friends, I've already deleted them. But, I also got an email from Chase Bank, saying there was a problem with my online banking account. I closed that account 8 months ago. It had a link that takes you to a page where you have to log in with user name and password. I didn't log in, but saved that email, and have intended to call the bank. Will do that Monday.

Chuck you think thas bad look at these and the same message you've got. Ive got 36 of these kind of massages in two days.

many big companies have a spoof (at symbol).company name.com you can forward the email to. They try to shut them down. I've gotten the email from chase. Not from Amazon though but I'm sure it'll work it's way down to me.

We use Amazon for a lot of our purchases. Our card #`s have been stolen at least 2 times. Some one or a group of someones all over the country were buying books and movies with our/ my wife's acct to the tune of somewhere between $500.00 and $1,000.00 . I got a call from Chase/ Amazon card two weeks ago is with telling me someone was trying to use/ testing my card. I would have to say Amazon is not to safe.

Just another phishing scam to go with all the other ones claiming to come from banks, credit card companies, PayPal, FBI, etc. I don't even bother to report them as there is so much of it I'd never get anything else done.
