A friend of mine was in a store in Austin, TX and saw pens for sale so he snapped this photo to show me. Looked like it could possibly be someone from around the forum. Anyways my first thought was...lose the orange and white dots...

the store is likely the one that sets up displays, not someone who is providing/consigning the pens.

and orange/white are the colors of some university in Austin...graduation is right around the corner - so maybe they're trying to entice people to think of pens as graduation gifts...

Cant run cant hide those pens are a neat standout, hold their own upside down in any company in any window display I have seen, sometimes we are too neat, letting it go wild may give outstanding results. First when I see clinical arrangements in a store I see formality and suggestions of higher than necessary pricing. I would like to know more of the venue and the rest of the venue to form another opinion.

Well done the maker of pens for having a go.

If on the other hand a wrong has been done it reminds me of SWMBO entry at a Show where the Woodwork and Quilts were jumbled up together, my wifes beaut quilt was found wrapped around a newly stained and polished piece of Woodwork, the organisers possibly may never do that again IMHO that was over the top.

Kind regards Peter.

I agree John- A mess that I would love to have in my collection. I tried to read the card behind the 50 cal pen but my eyes are not that good. I would love to have that setup like that to show off my work.

It is not a table with a table cloth, it is a reflection. There are mirrors surrounding the display. The pens look real nice. The sign on the box behind the 50 caliber says Wolf Designs. The card is too distorted to read.

I'm trying to identify where this store is so I can go by sometime. I thought if it was table it could help me know more about it.

Did the friend say where?

I saw the "Wolf Designs" and looked it up. They make boxes and such...not pens.

I like the set up. I agree with what was said about the "formal" setup. This is fun and casual. As for the Colors.....Hook 'em

I asked him what type of store it was in and he described it as some type of combination hardware store/gift shop.

Two things ....no three things wrong here , first its hard on the eyes and distracting looking, second if your going to show a watch pen turn the darn thing so you can see it third, why display upside down.

Orange and white dots in Austin Texas. What do you think you're going to find in hook um horn country, Cornhusker red?! Come on guys, this display got the attention of someone to the point they took a picture. It obviously grabs people's attention. What more can we ask of a display?

Eugene a train wreck also draws attention. I have nothing against the Orange and white being used in a display but tastefully, not where it is a distraction.Remember in Texas a pile of cow patty's in a window will draw attention

Now comes the acid test, the litmus test, the answer did the pens sell? the rest is just how we responded to an almost unknown situation, pure speculation and rumour.

Interesting to see how we react, what we think or would do.

Kind regards thanks to the person who took the pic, the one who showed it to us and good luck to the pen maker.

Take care you could be on candid camera one day.

Peter.

I think they need more orange and white confetti. They don't have NEAR enough.
Haha!

They may be in UT country, but sometimes it's best to just leave the orange and white out of a display case. This being one of those times.
