My wife got a ribbon blank from Woodcraft. When I drilled it the bit went off center and came out at an angle. The top is center but the bottom as alot of material on one side and very little on the other. Can I fill it with mica and redrill it?

I do not see why not. But before you go that route, is there enough meat on the thin end to go ahead and turn it? Before getting into the repour thing, you need to find the cause of the off drill and make that repair, dull bit, out of line blank, deflected drill, the list gets longer.

I would get the bushing for that end, slip the tube into the blank and put the bushing in place and see if the thin end has enough material to work. If so proceed. If you fill the hole and redrill then part of the fill will most likely be exposed as a solid line of that material somewhere on the finished pen. I agree that you need to figure out why the drilling was off center.
Dop a good turn daily!
