Since I will be taking possession of my Robust American Beauty this coming weekend, I no longer have need for the Jet. As I'm sure will be an amusing statement to some in the peanut gallery, this lathe has never seen a single piece of wood... it has never been used, as I've always been at someone else's place and used their lathe.

The lowest price I've seen on this unit is $2,100, so I'm pricing mine at $1,900. The ways have been nicely waxed with Johnson's paste wax, so there is not even a hint of rust anywhere on this machine. I have also added a wire shelf near the top (as suggested by a user on Amazon) that I will include with the lathe. I will also throw in some turning blanks to get the new owner started (bowl, pen, and bottle stopper), and considering my recent windfall of pen kits, I can throw in some of those, too.

In addition, I also have a 2HP motor/pulley that I will throw in for another $150. This is the same motor used on the 1642EVS-2, so it will slide right in without modification... I purchased it to upgrade from the stock 1.5HP, but I never got around to it before purchasing the Robust. This motor is new/never used, as well.

Due to the weight on this bad boy (400 pounds, give or take), shipping is not really an option, so local sales only (though if you want to make a drive from California to pick it up on your own dime, I won't complain :)). I'm willing to help with setup if you're within a 45 minute drive (though I was able to assemble it by myself), and for the rank lathe newbie I can give you some basic safety and turning tips.

Any questions, please feel free to ask...

A couple of bites that I didn't get back in touch with soon enough (18 hours was too long to wait for my reply?!) and a few Nigerian scammer attempts... but this is still available.

Never even saw any wood.......how sad.
I was too busy remodeling the house or turning on someone else's lathe... since I have a laser in the same shop, I didn't want to start throwing dust around in there until the dust collection was properly set up. Now that the shop is ready for use, I have the Robust, so...

Where is Columbia with respect to Anapolis? It can't be too far.
About a 30 minute drive, give or take. It's somewhat convenient being halfway between D.C. and Baltimore... just not convenient enough when it comes time to drive into work ;)

If the wife will let me have the Cube for a few hours, I could meet you in Annapolis, Smitty :) Maybe SWMBO would want to go with me and make an evening out of it, go to one the nice restaurants along the shore (we're always up for good food!)
