I made a special pen for my son at his request, Berea Click with a Pilot G2 fine in-fill. Buckeye burl, cafinish, name engraved and In-filled with gold. He set the pen down after completing a customer order. When he went to get his pen it seems it sprouted wings and flew off.

It's bad enough that someone would steal something, yet to have the unmitigated gaul to steal something with someones name on it. For this persons sake he better never go back in my sons store and try to use the pen.

I can only hope that as he uses the pen he sees the name and realizes he is a thief.

A new pen is in the works.

Maybe the guy picked it up by accident and will return it once he realizes that he took it.. since it has his name on it he'll know who to return it to.

nice thought, except pen has been gone for couple weeks. Where the pen was setting the thief had to reach over the counter to get to it.

Son felt so bad he didn't want to tell me he had "lost" it. No problem, I'll make him another.

Over the years I've had several clients share that pens have walked away, despite my cautions that it can and does happen. Saddly, not one of them ever managed to walk back to the rightful owner.

Over the years I've had several clients share that pens have walked away, despite my cautions that it can and does happen. Saddly, not one of them ever managed to walk back to the rightful owner.

I'm not surprised that they never come back. I am sure that some thefts are accidental - but most especially of nice pens are not.
