Midvale, Ut,
I am a little messed up so I hope that this makes sense. By the waynI had a Double herniaby something. I am wondering about others experiences with their recovery. I will not go into gory details but the first four days starting last Thursday have been nothing short of hell. I am so bruised from the co2 in the expanding packet. I am still bleeding internally, having dizzy spells, and a few other symptoms. It has been suggested ALREADY that I may have to have the surgery redone.. I cannot even sit in an upright position without a large amount of pain. I want to try to turn something different while I am in a different state of mind. Thank you. Take care.

Have yo contacted your surgeon yet about all your problems? If not, call him/her right now, tonight. My hernia repair was nearly 50 years ago when you lid around for a week before doing anything. Now you are almost walked back from surgery. If you are in that much pain, still bleeding, I would suspect some type of post-op problem and be in contact with the doctor. Just my $0.02, do what you feel you need to.

I would call your MD post haste.

I had one a couple years ago but they cut me wide open, no CO2. I can tell you it took a good week before was able to move without too much pain, and even now it doesn't always feel quite right.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I hope you have called the surgeon already, if not, get to the emergency room. The guy that did my arthroscopic double, killed someone a few years latter. I think he nicked a kidney or something. All they have to do is nick something crucial inside and you can bleed out. I was uncomfortable for a few days, but no big deal. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION!

oh wow.. Hope you get to feeling better soon. My husband had a hernia surgery and it took a while to feel better but it doesn't hurt to check to make sure everything is alright.. better safe then sorry. prayers are with you.

Had one

Hey Mike, sorry to hear about your condition. I had a hernia repair on my right side groin this past August. It took me two weeks before I could really get up and walk around without total pain. It took me another 3 months before I had little to no pain, but still a lot of discomfort. Just Monday, I was able to run 5 miles with no pain or discomfort at all. All through this, I had no bleeding, but a little juice around my 11 staples until they were removed the first month. You definitely need to have the doctor check that out. Other than that, let your body tell you when its ready to do the things you did prior. Don't rush it. Just takes a while to feel like the old you. OBTW, I still have no feeling around my incision area. If you need more info, feel free to PM me. Hope this helps.

I had a double hernia op about 10+ years ago, but i well never forget it. It was not pleasant, took 6 weeks before I could go back to work and I walked slowly even then. Keep in mind, men don't handle pain as well as women, my wife tells me that all the time. If you have questions call your Doctor. That is what they are there for.

Mike,
I had an umbilical hernia that became strangulated and required emergency surgery... I had a hole in my belly just above the belly button that was about the size of an orange... I wound up gutted like a fish with an 8 inch incision right up the middle of my belly.... for the first two or three days it hurt to just breath... but by the end of the week in the hospital, I was feeling pretty good, just hungry since they didn't feed me for a solid week... part of my surgery include a small bowel resection and they were waiting for it to heal before I was allowed food.... worst part of the whole ordeal was every time I would suck on a piece of ice - my only sustenance for a week - I would get the hiccups.... that hurt.

Call your doctor...
