My shop has several corian tops:
Drill press,
Arbor press (assembling components)

I have a local cabinetmaker who used to give me the "cutouts" for free.

He made LOTS more cabinets than I could make "corian uses".

Not to hijack this, but I think I more corian in my shop than I do wood right now...:embarrassed:
 
Nice video Ed. And, no I wasn't disappointed that it's not 'porn'. You got me excited with the DRILLING production.:eek: Looking forward to your next production.
 
Well done Ed. The only comment I have is the red text at the end is hard to read against your drill press top.

We tried a half dozen colors and the red was the LEAST OBJECTIONABLE!!
(The best of the bad!!)

I agree completely---by the time that came up, I was sick of looking at that video (14-15 hours in the making).

I WILL do better the next time, when each new step is NOT a step into the complete unknown!!
 
Thank you Ed for all the effort you so obviously put into this very informative video. The red text does present a problem, however, against that background most any other color would have been much worse. Congratulations on a great start and a big thank you to you.

When we considered that question, Dawn was standing in my office watching the vid for the final time before "rendering".

She told me red was terrible. So, now that I had figured out how, I changed that type to a half dozen different colors, then a few different fonts.

It came down to "Yuck"---that's as good as it's gonna get---don't do that again!!

OK--PUBLISH@!!!

I used to go to a lot of trouble to clamp my handscrew to the drill press table. I like your simple approach, and makes checking the alignment to the bit pretty easy.

Text color suggestions: YELLOW. Works pretty well against a lot of backgrounds.

Yellow might also stand out as the universal sign for "caution" as your steps suggest.

I may be doing that, Steve. Sorry, been playing with tools too long.

When I am in doubt, there is an orange "grill brush" that hangs right next to my right hand. If the plastic is "in" the flutes, I will use the brush. If the plastic is "whipping around", I touch the piece and it will fall off. This is also one way to see if you are generating a lot of heat. Those "ribbons" can become REALLY hot---that's a clue to sharpen the bit or add water or take a break.

I would agree with ssajn about the red. I try to stay away from red..unless my intention is to make people stop.

Video is good, only thing I would try and add is a direct link to exoticblanks some where.

I mentioned on one of the sites---Maybe I should insert a 10 second "review page" at the end and give up putting it "over the pictures".

What do you all think? Will this be "BBBBOOOOORRRRRIIINGGG?"
 
I don't think so, easy to create a fade in vegas and just add in your 'credits'. I see people putting in live links right into videos as well. You might be able to find out how this is done, and at end of video have it pop up with a 'visit exotic blanks' link.
