I've been seeing the jeers posted and seems like there are a lot of people policing them.

"Your jeer has no validity because....."

" give us more info on your jeer...."

"Why are you jeering A, when this sounds like a B problem"

Guys, if you don't think that a jeer is valid and have a reason, click the yellow triangle, report it and let the Mods deal with it. Otherwise ignore it.

Sheesh.

And Jeer me all you want, I really don't give a rats %*^&#$ (Sorry Skippy )

I've read all the cheers ad jeers recently myself and have remained silent. Most of the jeers are not valid according to the posting rules.
Most jeers are battering companies over what we want or would like their policy to be and not what their actual policies state.
I'm sure some will agree and many many more will disagree but it is my opinion that all cheers and jeers should be approved by the moderators before being posted.

One of the most puzzling aspects of this site is how the membership seems so afraid to give constructive criticism in SOYP, yet will attack and badger someone for having an opinion they don't like.

what part of the rat is the %*^&#$? good thought either comment on the subject, report with the tirangle, or get out of the thread.
easy solutions.

SHow off your pens should be called thats a great pen, or that s a good looking pen, because no one will say hey that looks like garbage, or its not semetrical, or the finish looks alittle wavy or lumpy.. If I did something really wrong your not doing me any credit by saying thats a nice pen.... Instead of helping fellow turners and evolving a hobby ( Which is what this website is intended to be ) Every body is thinking if I say his garbage looks good he'll keep making more garbage and If i end up in the same show or I'm being judged I'll have a better product or sales... Unless your name is Barry Gross or your last name is GISI your gonna have to sell alot of slim lines to make a decent living as a turner...

Agreed.

My pet peeve are those why argue that a jeer shouldn't have been posted because the problem could have likely been resolved by calling the company. I'm thinking that if I had to call a company to get a problem resolved, then a jeer is probably warranted.

I agree with you Steve... If I make a purchase on a website, I expect to handle everything via the website, including oopses. I shouldn't have to call to resolve it. An email or web contact form should be adequate.

I agree, it is kinda like paying for your gas at the pump and having the dang pump beep at you and say "please pick up your receipt inside". If I wanted to do that, I would not have paid at the pump.

Landon, the whole receipt thing really fires me up. I always pay at the pump because it's usually quick and painless. The people inside act like it's no big deal that the pump is out of paper.
