Just got back for the docs.........seems I need my tonsils out and a bit of other work done on my throat. No tunring or snowmobiling for 2 weeks post op. Looks like I will miss most of traping season as well!

That sucks...sorry to hear! I had my taken out at 35 about a month and a half after having one of my parathyroids cut out. Not a good time of year for me...The tonsils hurt the worst though. I was popping percocet like candy! Crushed them into a powder to dump in my mouth and wash down with water...couldn't swallow the pill it hurt so bad. Sorry to scare you, but it sucks as you get older!

Being that I can no longer take anything like percocet, I hope I don't have to deal with that. Yikes.

Ya I took care of a couple of tonsillectomy folks post op back in the day, wasn't fun for them! Top it off I have to have my uvula cut in half as well. That's the little punching bag in the back of your throat, mine is so enlarged I feel like I have something stuck in my throat. Unfortunately I have a long injury history and over the years I have developed a sensitivity to most pain meds.....this is going to be a real treat! Course compared to a broken back or having my finger ripped off in a construction accident the recovery time should be much shorter.

It will be worth it if I get sick less often and I'm not gagging on my own anatomy!

Not much to say after that except I wish you all the best and hope you have a quick recovery!

LOL thanks Tim. I haven't picked a date to go in yet, gotta see when the wife will be off long enough to help me for a few days. Really bad timing I should be setting up the trap line not recovering from surgery.

Rick, I'm sorry to hear this. I had both those procedures done. Here is the bright side for you. You get to have them at the same time:wink: I didn't have that luxury:mad: Forgive me for calling it a luxury:redface::smile-big: Hope you recover well and, quick.

BTW, I'm thinking Gunther may handle those trap lines.

Gunther would love the chance at it! Unfortunately he just turned 5, still a bit young to run the line on his own. Even for an Alaskan.

The good part is that you can have all the ice cream you want. At least, that's how it was when I had mine removed when I was about 8 or 9 years old.

I'm 44 I can have all the ice cream I want any time I want.........the post op instructions say NO dairy products for 2 weeks!
