Hi,
My Shopsmith blew a sheave bearing, so with a good sale on and my birthday coming up I figured it was a good time to move to the Jet 1220VS lathe.
I have read the reviews that I found with the search function, and just wondered if anyone has had any recent experience with the 1220VS good or bad.
Also, the manual lists the speed from 250-4000, but does not break down the speed ranges with respect to belt positions. From the manual it looks like there are 3 belt positions. Can anyone tell me the approximate speed range for each position?
Woodcraft has it for $560 with free shipping. They also have the Delta 46-460 for $650 plus a $50 rebate and a $30 gift card. Not sure what shipping would run. Any thoughts on whether the Delta is better? It has a shorter spindle length, but a 1HP motor compared to 3/4 for the jet, plus a reverse switch.
Thanks
