Did everyone notice the bowls and other items he has on display? He even has a lifetime supply of 'spare' lathe belts (there is a spool of cord under the table to his right.)
Heck, he even has all his toes and fingers intact and no apparent cuts in his jeans. Me, I would easily fall off the curb trying to do this and not sever several toes and one, maybe, two finger tips. I'm still dizzy trying to figure out all the movements he goes through.
Let's see, hand round beginning of workpiece with razor sharp skew (Tormek is perhaps in back office space), place workpiece in strange homemade device, er, remove workpiece then wrap cord around roughly rounded end, replace workpiece, begin back and forth movement while 'tightening' up foot operated tail stock, place above mentioned razor sharp skew on workpiece and beginning whatever comes next, ALL THE WHILE TALKING AND LOOKING UP AT TOURIST WITH CAMERA and proudly displaying one good front tooth. This alone reminds me of those that must 'text' while driving!

What I'm personally amazed at is the concept of coming ip with the idea of using your bare foot while working.
I mean we all spend time thinking of the best way to tackle a certain project, different ways/tools/jigs to accomplish something.
Never did I think "hey, why don't I just take my shoe off and use my foot to hold that!"
