Source for japanese style saws

Anyone know of a source for Japanese style hand saws that will not break the bank? I have been looking and it seems that you attach the word Japanese to hand saw and the price goes through the roof. I am particularly looking for a non marring flush cut style saw.

I have a different one that I like better but I can't find a link to it. I purchased it from my local family owned Lumber dealer. It features a blade with a hook like end that locks into the handle with a pivoting action. Very quick to take apart and they have 3 different blades to choose from for about $9 each. I think it's Takimira or something like that!

I have been using that brand for many years -- replacement blades are about 10-12 in the smaller sizes and a bit higher for the King and Queen sized blades.


Shark brand sold at many hardware stores are reasonably good utility blades also.

Pick the size and teeth depending on what you are going to be cutting. The little "dowel and dovetail saw" is a fine size for cutting off ends on the lathe.
