" Its 74 outside, clear ski's on our way to a hot sunny day high 94"

Heard same thing on 3 stations. Well I have been outside all night. It has been downpouring rain and windy last two hrs! Can't the weatherman step outside or at least look out a window?? Does he not hear the cracking thunder?

I want to bring back the linch mob!

I know what you mean. This is how they do the forecast for the San Antonio Area;
Monday the weatherman says "A weather system is moving in and it's going to rain this weekend"
Tuesday; "60% chance of rain/thunderstorms this weekend"
Wednesday; "40% chance of rain/thunderstorms this weekend"
Thursday; "20% chance of rain this weekend"
Friday; "Slight chance of rain this weekend"
Saturday; "isolated showers tomorrow"
Sunday; "It looks like it's NOT going to rain this weekend" (duhh)

Then they start the week all over again with the same thing. If the weatherman would have said back in November "No rain till October" and "It will be hot this summer" he could have taken the last 8 months off.

He could still be quite accurate though. We have a saying here in Indiana - If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes and it'll change.

It's a bit of an exageration, but I've seen 20-30 degree shifts and sunny to snowy or clear to stormy changes many times over the course of a few hours.

We used to say that in Texas till this summer. The weather has not changed for over 75 days. We have had 1 day under a hundred in that time and virtually no rain. The only thing you can depend on this summer here is hot and dry.

It seems that every time the weather station says that they have a new weather system that the predictions get worse. Go figure.

That's the reason I like the Indian method of weather forecast.... build a tripod, suspend a rock on a string..... check the rock, if there's a shadow under the rock, it's sunny....
if it's swing back and forth, it's windy...
if it's wet, it's raining...
if it's all covered with white stuff, it's snowing....
no matter, just go back inside the teepee.

Thinking back

That brings to mind that many years ago the local radio station was located in a motel/hotel and their studio looked out into the parking lot through a glass wall - I was going to have lunch at the Inn that day and pulled into the parking lot and it was raining pitch forks and hammer handles to the degree that I was sitting in my truck waiting for it to ease off a bit before I walked in. I had the radio on and the weather came up and I am looking (and can barely see) the announcer making the report, he is looking out through the glass wall saying there was a 30% chance of rain.

Wher is he

On the boob tube here our weather is reported on a station that is roughly 30/35 miles away. They often report something different than what we look out and see.

The other thing is that because of where we are and the weather patterns here, the weather might be different a mile down the road.
Fairly often when I'm out (and I seldom go more than a couple of miles from the house) I will drive through rain coming home and pull into a dry driveway.
