What are your thoughts? Out in the boonies our selection of carriers is horrible. I have liked the straight talk phone from wally world but their coverage has become seriously limited out here. Verizon is plain evil. I know too many people who have been over billed. Cellular 1 is way expensive so that leaves T-mobile. Their coverage fits the places I need it and every place I might go. Now just wondering what people who use it think.

I had T-mobile until I started having billing issues with them and got fed up with their customer service. Now, I'm with Verizon. The actual phone service from T-mobile was not bad though but that's all going to depend on your area.

T moblie

I have had T mobile for over 10 years great to deal with. Check your coverage with them though. If it is not there for you your fealings may be different. I get clear, crisp, calls and no droops. They are supposed to be merging with ATT so I don't know if that helps you. Check out Radio Shack for a phone they seem to beat every body.

I have had T-mobile about 10 years also. Honestly, the coverage is great, except where I work. :)
I have a great plan, anything close would cost me 30% more, so I deal with the poor reception in my office. Ultimately, I have had good luck, we'll see how it goes now that ATT has bought them.

If you are thinking about choosing T Mobile, you should be comfortable with changing over AT&T. The deal for ATT has been approved by FCC and the offer of $39 per share has been accepted.

Come to think of it, might be worth purchasing a few shares of T Mobile stock. After AT&T's buy out, the T-mobile price should advance quite nicely.

We're on T-Mobile. I like the company to deal with, well, until now. I got a call from them last month, after the buyout by ATT was announced, that if I didn't move to a higher priced plan by September, they would do the moving for me. Seems like they're acting like ATT already!

Our reception here from T-Mobile is pretty bad. But it was good enough, and their customer service was good enough that we stayed with them. But we will be switching to Verizon now rather than be forced into ATT. I would recommend them overall, but like PenMan1 said above, you had ought to be comfortable being moved to ATT.

Scott.

I read somewhere AT&T merged with T-mobile

It's not a merger, it was a buy out by AT&T. When all the dust settles from this buy out finishes (end of this month), 3 things WILL happen.

1. The T Mobile stockholders will make a lot of money as that becomes AT&T stock.

2. The reception and speed of T-mobile will be dramatically enhanced as it will be faster and more reliable than any other service. TM customers will now be able to get GSM iPhones that allow web surfing. telephone use and gps directions all at once.

3. The very cheap T-Mobile "unlimited service for a flat rate deal" ends on August 31. One of the pitfalls that nobody thinks about when buying "contractless" service.

I believe T Mobile is owned by a German company and therefore there aren't any direct T Mobile stock holders. There are stockholders of the parent German company.
