Its soo hot here in Wichita Falls, that a large portion of the west side of town lost power around 9 tonight. its been a long time since I've seen it this bad. todays high reached a record high of 112°. Now the power company is saying it could be midnight or later before the power its restored. Wish I had a backup generator

They said that you guys reached 114 deg. in our news. But, glad you got the power back. They are saying that if residents of TX don't start conserving the Texas Electric authority will order the black out and the local electric co.s have 10 min. to comply and there would not be a warning to the residents, since the demand is so high.
 
When I read things like this I wonder why people think Florida is too hot. I'll take the heat and humidity to get the balmy winters we have.
 
We lost power last night around 0200 hrs and still off. Running on generator now hoping power comes on before heat starts. Raining now also but when that stops and heat steps up it's going to be rough. I have never seen so much lightning last night, couple of houses and a chuch got hit and burned.

yeah there has actually been talks about changing the time to an earlier time so that it would be a little cooler at the start of the race
 
We have had the same problem up here in Lawton, OK. Almost like rolling blackouts. Power has been going out every day three or four times for about 10-15 mins at a time. Luckily I have access to a generator if it gets real bad. My biggest concern right now is Water, Water, Water.
 
Guys, I feel bad for Y'all, I've been bitchin bout our 100 plus temps, but so far our electrical grid has held up, I sure hope you folks find some relief, and maybe get some rain that doesn't flood.

Boy isn't that the truth! Its so bad, the foundation repair companies business is booming!

I think currently that is my biggest water consumption right now. Every other day I am outside with the hose around my foundation making sure the ground doesn't recede too much trying to stabilize the crappy soil we have.

LOL, no doubt. but it sure is alot cheaper to maintain your yard and foundation with watering than the $5,000 - $8,000 bill from the foundation repairs!

Almost enough to make me forgo SWAT for the HHH. I have ridden the three hottest ones, matter of fact last year was only the 5th one I missed.
