I would consider entering, except one little detail.

To be eligible to participate in any IAP activity your penturners.org member profile must include your real first and last names and your city and state (US) or the location identifier appropriate for your country of residence.

A direct quote from the rules.
Perhaps I'm not the only one that this keeps from entering?

I just might make the deadline. If I can just make up my mind as to WHAT exactly it is that I want to do. Thanks for the reminder!

This is one of the rules required by the IAP. Not sure why it creates a problem for people??

Some don't want to have their personal information (real name, city state) on a public profile. Therefore if they stand up for their own thoughts/beliefs etc they don't enter the info and they can't participate.

as you said ... its a rule.

So, why so shy about sharing your name or where you live, its not like anyone can steal your identity. Do you not share that info in your web sales? Especially as long as you have been on here, its too bad you feel that way

I have no problem sharing info one on one, when I know who my information is going to. You would be surprised at the stuff people can do with your name and location. Why do you think you see all of these threads about scams or an account was hacked or whatever? Keep personal info personal.

There is no reason to put personal information on an open forum. If someone wins, they have to give their information to receive their prize. That should be sufficient.

Anyone that cares enough to know me, can do so by phone, email, pm's or they could even stop by. I don't need all that crap that some people have to experience. I have enough problems without inviting more. It's not worth it to me, for a simple prize.

As mentioned above.... it's a rule.

So, I choose not to participate. It's much less expensive to save up and buy whatever it is I have a chance to win than to take a chance.

Your name and location are in the phone book unless you are unlisted. There are numerous places to get names and locations of people. I don't see how listing your name and a location put you at any risk
