You see ( and hear ) the strangest things at a boat launch!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the conversation went something like this.

"Hey Bubba, lets use the boat launch on the other side of the lake."

"Well, OK . . . . . Hold my beer & hang on."

I don't think I was ever as nervous or have been near as nervous as I was the first time launching at a public boat ramp back in the late 70s.

Or maybe....
You forgot to put the drain plug in that truck!
I hate when that happens:mad:. Almost as bad as messing up the order on cigar bushings.

"Hey, Coy! The instructions say to put the motor COMPLETELY under water. Do you think this is deep enough, or should I go in a little deeper?"

"Stop rat cheer, Bubba. You're getting salt water in my beer".

Nah......... he's just checking out the depth finder transponders on the bottom of the transom and figures this way he doesn't have to bend over as far to see them!

Transponder or no transponder this nut cake is looking at the wrong end of the problem.

Maybe he got stuck in that bent over position and the tide really did come in on him since he took so long looking at the bottom of the boat.

I don't want to hijack the thread but I just have to tell this story.
A few years ago I had just launched my boat ( boat first ) and was waiting for my wife to return from the ladies room. I looked up and noticed a police car had pulled someone over inside the marina. It was then that I realized that the car that was stopped by the police was towing
( dragging ) an aluminum boat with a chain...and no trailer. It must have been quite a sight coming down the road.
I looked at the guy at the dock next to me and he said " I'm waiting to see him back it into the water"!
Hadn't laughed so hard in a long time!
