No, Marc - they tabled the back to work legislation bill yesterday...it still has to pass a vote in the House of Commons and then get ratified by the Senate before it's enacted.

The Senate is also Conservative, so it likely wouldn't stop it, but it still needs that sober second look before it can be enacted.

If it passes (and there's no reason it wouldn't in a majority government), then it means mail by next week.

Geez, I can't believe that you haven't got it yet!! That really sucks! If that pine wasn't such a PITA to work with I'd have to make a second one and ship via UPS.

Actually if you don't get it soon, I will make another and send it because this is taking way to long to get to you!

I wonder how many people who used Canada Post have switched to electronic methods, or UPS/FedEx for all their needs. What percentage has their business been reduced by this strike, ultimately speeding their demise.

There is absolutely no mail delivery right now so it will not arrive until there is some sort of resolution to the strike. Luckily I hadn't sent the one I made yet and the one I'm receiving had not been sent yet so both are sitting safe and sound until the strike is over.

Fedex is working great within Canada and the charges are very similar to Canada Post for small packages but as soon as you cross the border the price skyrockets so unfortunately for the "little people" like you and I the cost is prohibitive. Larger companies probably do not notice or care as long as they can continue to send and receive items.

We have a couple deposits for our wedding stuck in the mail. Hopefully we don't lose out because of it. It will suck to have to start over sourcing some of the services the deposits are for.
