I just bought a smart phone and was wondering if the app is better than just looking it up on the web.....on the phone. You know, the pros and cons.....
I will get it but wanted some feedback on the app...Oh, I got the Droid X...

Forum Runner is way better than looking it up on the web. The short answer is that the screens are formatted for the mobile application instead of having all the stuff that displays around the perimeter of the screens on the web.

The biggest pain for me with Forum Runner is how many steps it takes to get into the application as far as the IAP every time I go into it.

I love it too, but i would recommend paying for the $2.00 versions versus the free one. The paid version allows you to reply on threads and also on PMs.

I also upgraded and well worth the 2 bucks. I do find myself on the IAP even more now, and it is so much nicer than trying to look it up on the web with the Droid.

Have you added IAP to your favorites? If so, it should come up immediately without any fuss. Mine does, at least. If you have not added it to your favorites, then do a search for IAP as you have been doing. Then, hit the arrow box on the top right of your screen. On an iPhone, it is right under the battery icon. Then choose add to favorites from the menu that appears. It will add an IAP icon to your main forum runner page and as long as you do not log out, the next time you open forum runner, it will automatically go to IAP.

Curtis;

Yes it is on my favorite list. It's the only item in my favorite list.

What I would prefer is a way to put IAP on my 'desktop' instead of needing to open Forum Runner (wait), open favorites (wait), open IAP (wait), click the recent button (wait) before I can see the newer posts.

It's not a biggie, just a comment. I have the paid version of Forum Runner and still much prefer it to trying to use the web browser to surf IAP, even with a fast connection.

Tony, do you have the iphone or android version? My iphone version goes straight back to IAP when I open Forum Runner. I wonder if there is a setting??

I just received an IPAD for Fathers Day. Will I need to use forum runner and need an app? Sorry Brian I am not trying to Hijack your thread, just trying learn about these newfangled electronic gizmos. I tried to use my Blackberry phone but something does not work right either.

My problem exactly. Android.

You guys may want to send a message to the developer of the software and ask that he fix it. He is VERY responsive and has added stuff when I requested it. As Dean said, it works just like you would want on an iPhone. It takes me right back to where I was when I closed the app.

You don't NEED to use forum runner for your iPad. You could use it and/or your safari on the ipad. However I do recommend that you try it for your ipad (there is a free version.) There is not cost to try and once you figure out the basics, its really good!
