BEFORE the end of the season.... Went to open my PR which has a little more than 1/2 a can and it was harder than a rock. :eek:

PR will cure from Heat as well as using hardener . I have heard others say that they don't take any extra precautions when storing their PR but I would advise that you should store your PR in a cool , dry , dark place to prevent problems like you are having . This has come up in the past , Stevers lost a whole gallon that cured in the can while stored in his shed .

Hmm...I had mine in my basement where temps average at 50 - 60 deg. Oh well I am not too worried, granted it was 1/2 a quart, but still. Nothing I can do now. I am thankful I am not as bad off as Stevers.
 
I agree totally with Butch. The dryer, darker and cooler the storage place, the longer the life of the PR.

Additionally, I have found that a cheap fan circulating air helps too. If you store the PR in milk jugs, the yellow ones that block UV should do better.
 
Mine set up due to 100+ temps, I peeled the can open, got out my brick ran it through the band saw and made stoppers an pen holders.
 
an old refridgerator set on a cool temp is good to store in, especially if you have 5 gallon cans. 55 gallon drums are a unique challenge...

Also, I you have larger quantities of MEKP, it is best to store it in a very cool place to keep it from decomposing.
