I like American Woodworker. I've subscribed to most of them at one time or another. AW is the first one I've renewed.

Andrew,
I have been subscribing to wood magazines for YEARS and have/had so many in storage it was becoming overwhelming to manage all of them. After moving two times in 3 years, I decided it was time to eliminate some of my storage and I sold all of my back issues on CL. I started a search of ebay, ww forums and other places to find magazines on CD. I was lucky enough to find the Fine Woodworking CD with 100+ issues on it. My kids went together and bought me the WOOD Magazine disc for Fathers Day last year. I have to say it was a great way to go because if I can't find something to build in on one of those discs then I better give up the hobby. Just something for you to think about.

If you really like turning of all sorts, there is a magazine titled 'Woodturning'.
The mag is produced in England, and mainly about their turners, but (IMHO) a really great magazine with great articles and really great turners.

I was given an subscription for Christmas one year, but the expense of shipping was astronomical and so I did not renew ;(
HOWEVER, after begging/pleading and groveling to my local Barnes&Noble store, they now carry the magazine on their racks.

My point being, it is a great magazine for turners, and you might check with your B&N to see if they carry it.

1) Wood magazine is excellent.
2) Woodturning out of Britain is the best turning mag out there. Go thru Lightening Publications for the best deal. It is pricey for the subscription, but you do get 13 issues a year, and it is much cheaper than buying by the issue.

Jerry,
that's a great link...I couldn't believe that price included shipping from England to USA but called and verified it does...thanks for the link..!

(Apologies, don't mean to hijack the thread)

I get many of the wood magazines. I like them all. One of my favorite investments is my online subscription to Fine Woodworking. It gives me easy access to every article they have ever published plus lots of other online media. Also it is zero storage space. I wish all the magazines offered this service. The annual CD's like Popular Woodworking offer are also nice. I file all interesting articles in PDF format into an electronic library sorted by subject matter.
