I was cleaning up the mess that has piled up from the last couple years. I have been ignoring this area of my garage/shop. I decided today I needed to rearrange it and I came across some interesting finds. The first picture is rosewood burl I bought from a member. I don't think he is here anymore. Anyone know what happened to chit (Darrick) his site just shows all sold. I also found an envelope with a bunch of pen blanks in it.

Found a box of desert Iron wood that needs some help. I am not sure how to help it, I think I need to pick some brains. Second picture is of some of that.

Third one I think is desert iron wood as well. I bought it from Dario years ago I believe. Can anyone confirm if it is. I usually mark everything but I didn't mark this.

The second frame and the lighter colored wood looks like a Desert Ironwood that I cut at one time. Man that stuff looks great. Have a good time.

John it would have been back in beginning of 2008 right before my wife's cancer. I remember opening the box and then putting it on the shelf. today was the next time it was opened. You should see some of the spalted items I have been finding.

Dario, just stopped posting and thats a shame as he was/is one of the nices people you'll ever meet. It's bee about 2 years now.

I believe Darios last post was on my thread in SOYP and, I can't help feeling responsible for him not being here NOW. I think there was a misunderstanding. I feel real bad now because of this.

Sorry to high-jack your thread sir:redface: Nice looking find. I am sure you will find a good use for them.

Dale,
It's not your fault. You can't control what others do.
If there was a misunderstanding, it had to be on both side -- remember, it takes two to tango.

Dario was a great guy and very talented too.
However, if he decided to quit this site, that's his decision and not yours.
IIRC, he had a lot going on with work, changing locations, and taking care of family. Maybe he needed a hiatus from pen making.

Back to the OP: I seen to remember chitswood getting in situation with family too and he just up and disappeared one day.
Too bad 'cause he always had cool stuff at fair prices.

Cheers,
Gary
