Got a voice mail from Chuck saying he was on his way back to the mother land the other day. He should have been there by now as he wanted to watch the shoot out tonight. So if anyone has heard from him, just drop me a PM so that I know he and Suzanne are alright.

Hi kids!!! I'm doing fine now that I'm back home. We left Indy Thursday morning. Stayed in Chatanooga for the night and, left Friday morning. Got home Friday night 10:30ish. Great traveling. The crews in In, Ky, Tn and Ga. had the roads in good shape for me. Sorry, I didn't get back to see you but, it was really nice having lunch and, learning a few things from you. I'm almost over the flu now too:frown: A trip to be remembered:rolleyes:

Thanks for checking on me! (no palm trees)
And, this shoot out is intense

Chuck, Chuck, Chuck . . . again, you missed your chance for free coffee, a clean bathroom, and the opportunity to help clean up my shop! One of these days when you're hauling down I-75 through Georgia . . . you've got to get off at the Macon exit and spend a little time visiting.

Glad you guys made it back safe and sound. Sorry about the cold and the snow. I guess that is karma for you. :beat-up: Next time you come up here, make it in a month with four letters or less.

The shoot-out was well wprth watching and the track is awesome with the new pavement. Take care and maybe you will be warmed up by Dayton next week.

Doc, here again, I'm saying "Sorry I missed visiting with you" But, I-75 is a very familiar route and, I will be certain to stop next time by and, help clean that shop. One thing I noticed about Georgia, they seem to have an over abundance of orange barrels, with nowhere to store them. So, they just line them up for miles and, miles on I-75 and, reduce the speed limit so as we don't run into them  Genious!

I didn't want to tell you how nice it was today 'cause of the price I paid for recent comments. It will definately be a warmer season when we come back.

The shoot out was really some wild racing. Looks like my driver wanted the same spot several others wanted and, it cost them all. But, that's racin' !

Chuck, How was KingFish?? Our forecast for next weekend is in the mid 60's:smile:. So it should be a scorcher in Daytona. Wish I could make it down for speedweek, but i'm taking to much time off during the summer. Somehow Vegas and D.C. outweigh Daytona this year.

Chuck,
If you were going north on I75, you passed within 30 miles of my place... TN Highway 68 runs from I75 south to TP... I'm just 6 miles out of TP.... the exit is at Sweetwater which is only about 50 miles north of Chattanooga... sorry you missed me.

Chuck:
You passed within miles of me too, and you are always welcome....no shop cleaning required.

As for Georgia's orange barrels, in the winter we put them on I-75 and reduce the speed limit so that Daytona bound motorist will have the opportunity to stop and spend money at Stuckeys. In the spring and fall, we gather up the barrels, fill them with peanuts and pecans and send them North on I-75. It's a perfect system:)

Ernie, sorry you couldn't join us at KingFish. The food was outstanding and, the atmosphere and view of the river are relaxing. Maybe next time thru, you can make it. I'll think about you at the July race in Daytona.:tongue:

Chuck, next time thru Ga. & Tn. I will have to make sure there is time to visit with you & Doc. I often think about the number of members that, reside between here and, Indy. THIS, trip, I HAD to get home to warm up:biggrin: Thanks, for the invitation!

Thanks, Andy! Got you on the list:biggrin: So, I was right about the barrels. I could have grabbed a handful of pecans and, didn't even know it.

Careful Chuck - it sounds like they are setting a "nut" trap to me. :giggle:

Watch what you say about the weather too ... you just might get a monsoon or something this summer :thunder::rain: then instead of your :island: you will be looking for your :umbrella:

Mrs.

I AM nuts! As far as the monsoons, it's fine as long as it isn't FROZEN :biggrin::island: Thank you Mrs.

Chuck, sorry we didn't have time to get together. I am up to my elbows in alligators at work and have been working some ridiculous hours. By the time I get off I am ready to crash. Looks weather is trying to make a turn here this week so your weather bragging is not going to hurt as much!

I am sorry too Ron. Don't overwork yourself. Glad to hear the temps are getting higher there. Maybe we can hook-up next time.
