Don't get me wrong!
I love turning pens. But I would like to broaden my horizons.

Does anyone know of a forum like this 1, full of good help, awesome advice, and honest criticism that is geared more towards bowl turning?

AAW has a forum -
http://www.aawforum.org/vbforum/forumdisplay.php?f=2

Wooturners Resource - Ron Sardo runs this and is an accomplished turner (including pens)

Wood Central --

Wood workers Friends -- Wm Young posts here

Woodturners resource and Wood Central will likely meet your objectives well. Both will provide candid feedback if you ask for candor.

Then there are several others like lumber jocks etc and countless specialty sites

All require a registration process - and some like the AAW Segmented Woodturning Chaper require payment of dues.

Another vote for SawMillCreek. Great site and great people!! The AAW forum is very slow, 3-4 posts a day. And those are usually duplicated on SMC.

Here are a few more:

Woodturning Online (a great resource in their tutorials and howto section)
http://www.woodturningonline.com/

WWA also has a woodturning section:

If you like segmented work there's a forum for that too:

This Ozzie forum is pretty good last time I checked:

And last but certainly not least is the World of Woodturners from which you'll need an invitation from Herman in order to partake:

I like the sawmillcreek site a lot, and it's the closest thing to this forum that I've found.

I'll add another to the list... It's a new site. woodturnersamerica.com
